nadabrahmananda
I have switches on the Helix floor assigned to control functions in Ableton Live. How can I have the state of the Helix footswitch reflect the state in Ableton? I.E. I would like a button that is "on" in Ableton to light up on the Helix. Is there a MIDI implementation for this? rd2rk
You would need to use "CC Toggle" which IIRC, does not work well with Live (NOTE is Live's prefered method) and in any case will not necessarily reflect the status of the switch in Live until you've actually toggled it - IOW, if the switch in Live is saved "ON", you'd need to hit the FS twice to turn it off, after which it would reflect the Live switch status so long as you do NOT directly toggle the switch in the Live UI. nadabrahmananda
Thanks for the reply. Yes I tried CC toggle, but it looks like the Helix is tracking internal state rather than reflecting the state of Live as you said. I was hoping there was some communication protocol for Ableton to talk to the Helix and update it's internal state.

Someday MIDI 2 will be the standard that all HW and SW companies implement, and we'll have true 2-way communication. Don't hold your breath. 1
