HX Stomp XL - Crackling when touching metal parts?

Hi all

I am owner of a HX Stomp XL, I bought it summer last year. But since today I am faced with a problem. Hopefully someone can help me, or maybe someone knows the problem:

Especially with clean sounds I hear strong crackling sounds through the speakers (like static discharge, sounds like a campfire) when I touch the strings of the guitar, but also the foot switches or the jack plug that is connected to the stomp. I have already tried the following things to narrow down the cause of the error:

- Various jack cables

- Different guitars

- Reset to factory setup

- Changed output device (different speaker)

- Changed my dress!!!

- Different power socket

I am currently very perplexed and desperate, as I have absolutely no idea what the reason could be. It seems that the error is caused by the HX stomp. Has anyone faced similar problem?

Would be very happy to get any advice.

Thanks a lot

Best regards

Artur

It's a ground issue. Somehow the Stomp (and by extension you) is not grounded.

The Stomp isn't grounded by itself (by design). It gets it's connection to ground by the device you connect it to. In this case that is your speaker- so the power socket the speaker is plugged into matters.

Do the tested speakers have a 3 pole power cable or a 2 pole power cable? If it's a 2 pole cable you can additionally connect the Stomp to an amp (that can stay switched off) or via USB to a computer.

No ground on the socket(s) (electrical problem in the house) could be the problem, too. Try a different room (or house).
