I'm trying to get my head around: Newer gen vs older gen - what's the difference? How can you tell if a given axe is older or newer? Different models - why? Just to get more buyers? The Strat model is supposedly made by Yamaha, any way to confirm what models the other Variaxs are based on? Pickups - Do the pickups work with the modeling or is it separate? For example for the Shuriken (single bridge HB) to pull off a neck pickup type of tone is it using the modeling rather than the pickup?
