Amp Switching With Stomp XL Possible?

I have a Cat 200 and just received a pre-owned Stomp XL.  Is it possible to use the Stomp XL to switch between the multiple cannels of the Cat?   The Stomp XL has the 3.60 update installed and I read that on 3.0 update it gave Command Center midi control, but I'm not finding anything about the use of that for the Cat 200.

I saw where the HX FX is able to do this and I was looking for a pre-owned HX FX but a Stomp XL showed up for a pretty sweet price so I jumped on it instead.

Thanks,

Byrdman

The Cat "Banks" and "Channels" are simply presets. Page 12 of the Pilot's Guide lists the PC#s required to call each.

Example: PC# 3 calls Bank 2 Channel A.

On Helix I have a single preset for everything. I use 6 Snapshots to call the Banks and a FS assigned to switch the Channels.

Example: Snapshot 3 calls Bank 3 Channel A (PC# 1) and in that SS footswitch 1 calls Channel B (PC# 2) and I reload the SS to get back to Channel A.

Your Stomp XL has only 4 snapshots, so you'd need to use separate Presets for each Bank (or only use 4 Banks).

The EASIEST way to do this is to use the Instant Commands to call the BANK, then use an external FS like the LFS2 to switch the channels, but the following works if you don't have an external FS. Using an external FS spares a FS for normal Stomp type functions.

Set HXSXL Global Settings>Preferences>Snapshot Reselect = Reload.

Make sure that the Cat is set to the MIDI Channel you want to use. In a simple configuration the HXSXL Base Channel defaults to Channel 1. Since yours is pre-owned you'll need to check that. In the Cat's Global Settings (use the app) set the MIDI Channel to 1.

In Command Center, set the preset's Instant Command 1 to Bank/Program>Program = 1 for Bank 1 Channel A.

Set a FS to Bank/Program>Program = 2 for Bank 1 Channel B.

Thanks for that detailed explanation.  I'll start messing with it and let you know if I have any problems.  This is all new territory to me, so I really appreciate the time you spent to explain it.  Once I get into it, I'm sure it will make better sense regarding presets, snapshots, etc.  It just showed up today, so I have some reading to do, lol...
