AugieM59
Purchased a nice used Variax 300 yesterday. This is my first experience with a 'smart' guitar. It did not have a battery installed, & the D-string was broken, but it was (is) in very nice condition. Got it home, installed a battery and checked it out. While the tuning function is working, the 'PROG' function does not seem to work. Is this common? Can I download software that might fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, the fit of the back cover was lacking. It was slightly too large for the opening & has a slight buckle to it now. I am trying to flatten the cover, then I'll file it down for a snug fit. And the tuners are not tight, making tuning more difficult than it should be IMO. Lastly, I presume that there should be foam in the battery holder that is missing as the battery just flops around in there. Thanks.

zedaxe
HI, Regarding the moving battery/foam. Are you using a PP3 9v rather than the provided 6xAA 1.5v caddy? BEest
