gregd2790
Had nice clean sounding amp, then all of a sudden every patch has this distortion sound almost like a blown speaker, except that I hear it in the headphones too. all patches, even a completely clean channel (no stomp pedals or anything.) I don't run the amp past 1/3 power. Practiced with the band for several hours, no problems. I am practicing at home a week later and here is this crunchy noise. I tried updating firmware, got the latest version but that didn't help. If it wasn't in the headphones I'd think it was speaker related but it sounds just as crappy in the headphones. HELP! I have gigs coming up !!
gregd2790
So I figured it out!! I have a Schecter guitar and it has built in sustainer that has 2 9 volt batteries... so it appears that even when the sustainer circuitry is not being used when the batteries go dead it affects the circuitry of the guitar. New batteries and great sounding amp again!
SeaRefractor
Thanks for the follow up! It's an important reminder for others that sometimes the source of audio issues may be a low/dead battery if using a product like the Schecter.
