Using 2 amps to create one monster tone live

Having recently watched That Pedal Show with none other than Mr Mike Vennart I was wondering how I would go about recreating his setup for ESB for a live setting on Helix. He was using one amp completely dry with no effects and it was dimed loads and loads of gain. He then had a much cleaner set up for all his effects and clean tones. The distorted amp was muted when he wanted to play quieter parts and both amps where running when he wanted play the heavier stuff.

At the moment I just A/B between two amps for my clean and dirty tones with all effects running into them ( using snapshots ) I then split the signal between the amp head and speaker cab with one signal going direct to front of house and the other signal going to a orange pedal baby and 2 x 12 on stage.  I run the signal going to front of house out of the xlr jack and the signal going to the amp on stage comes from a 1/4 jack

That sounds like you want us to do your homework. (HAHA). For now, I just don't have the time currently, I would make a flow chart of your exact paths and everything in them, then adapt them as best you can to the Helix hierarchy. If I find time to contemplate this, could you provide a detailed description exactly what is going where?
