Helix floor not working with Logic Pro

Hi there

i bought a helix floor this year and everything was working fine with my iMac from 2013.

I recently switched to a Mac Pro from the same year and logic doesn’t seem to get the input from the helix although it is setup as primary input and computer seems to get audio from it. I always had my audio interface as an out and I never had this problem with my former Mac. What should I do?

also the helix works fine with all other outputs. I have helix with usb to Mac and Mac to audio interface

Hi,

A couple of things to check would be that you need to ensure that the Audio preference in Logic are set correctly - to accept audio in from the Helix and that your other audio interface is set for output. This will also need to be set in the Audio MIDI Setup Utility app, which has the ability to configure multiple different ins and outs as an aggregate device.

Other than that would require more info on your actual AI hardware and Mac OS.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

Thanks for replying, my Mac is running Monterey 12.6.3.

my helix is set in input and the audio interface in output.

I also can’t find the privacy setting for logic, could that be the issue?

I’m not sure why the Privacy setting should be a problem - that is usually only relevant to apps that are using the built in microphone, and as you’re not using that for input/recording, well I don’t see the issue there.

I have been using Macs right from the Plus, but I have refused to do the update to the newer OS from Apple simply because I use this stuff everyday and I really don’t want to end up in the same situation as you. I’m still running Catalina and Logic 10.5  (if it ain’t broke etc.), so I’m not sure what is causing the problem you have encountered. I even had an email this morning from a Logic user advising people not to be an early adopter of the new Apple Sonoma (Sunburst).

I realise that you say you switched from an iMac to. Mac Pro and now you have problems - other than the computer hardware what else changed?

I had to buy a monitor but nothing else. Btw I solved the issue, I had to do a lot of stuff to make it work but it was the privacy setting (although as you said I didn’t see any kind of connection, but if it works who am I to say anything) but thank you for your time! Gotta follow your advice, if it ain’t broke ecc :)
