Volume settings?

Looking for advice on how to set volume in Native.

It seems I always need to bump up the main volume by 3-5db, but so many presets vary, some I need to lower it.

Whats the best way to balance my favourite presets so that there's no big jumps in volume?

Where should I be making adjustments? Any tips on volume would be great!

The same question has been asked and answered with respect to the Helix devices. Helix Native is no different. Search the Helix forums for associated topics.

In general your main controls, without affecting tone, are the amp’s channel volume and the Output level. There is also a Gain FX block that can provide a clean level boost. Same with an EQ block with neutral settings except for the Level. Input level and the amp Drive level will affect the tone, but sometimes the Input level can be used without causing much effect. Depends on the amp. Of course the guitar itself can affect levels; hi-gain pickups will be louder than standard.

You need to manually change levels one preset at a time; there is no automatic way to do this. Start with the cleaner tones. Adjust the above parameters and compare/balance levels among all of those. Then move on to your crunchy and then hi-gain tones. Use your ears as your guide. Some people prefer to use level measuring tools that can provide numbers for comparison.

It’s a tedious but worthwhile exercise.

Thanks so much for this info, channel volume has been a game changer for me and I've completely ignored it until now!
