parabolic1970
Apparently this is a topic that's been discussed but no resolution presented? I have a 150 that sat for about 1.5 years in a climate controlled basement. Went to turn it on and it "functions" ok - controls, display, functions, etc. I cant hear anything out of the speakers, but I can hear the mp3 in out of the headphones only. The front input for the guitar doesn't work in either case. I thought maybe corrosion on the headphone shutoff contacts, but that wont solve the input problem. So pending I may have multiple issues, lets start with the guitar input. I tried a firmware reset and reinstall - no change. I looked inside and didn't see anything damaged or burnt or not plugged in. Im guessing these use a DAC on the input plug to send the signal to the main board. Have there been issues with the input plugs? I can hear the speakers pop when I turn it on so I dont think its a output amp issue - Something on the mainboard. Just weird it happened when it wasnt being used. Any help is appreciated, Thanks! Jeff
psarkissian
Headphone jack is engage or broken, it sends a volt level to the power amp mute pin, cutting off the output. Could also be an input jack pre-amp issue. DAC would not be on the input, all that digital stuff is on the processor board.
