Spyder V Alternative without the Speaker

Hello everyone,

I've recently purchased a Spyder V 20 MKII, and i find myself only playing with the headphones connected to it.

Since i don't use its speaker at all, and it taking space in my room, i thought it would be better to buy an amplifier without the speaker.

Do you have any amp to suggest that i will only connect on with my headphones?

Thanks.

Have you considered an amp modeler rather than a traditional amp head? The POD Go or the HX Stomp, for instance? Or, for a highly portable and budget conscious choice, the Pocket POD?

Other manufacturers have options as well.

Thank you! I'll check these out. So essentially, from what you tell me is that I am looking for an amp modeler, which can connect to my guitar and headphones.

Cheers!

I’m not saying that you necessarily want an amp modeler; just that it’s an option worth considering. An amp head gives you one physical amp including one Gain/Drive component, and perhaps a built in reverb or chorus. An amp modeler gives you (depending on the modeler) dozens of amp models, dozens of cab/mic models, more than a hundred FX models including overdrive, fuzz, distortion, EQ, modulation, reverb, delay, filters, synths, looper …..  and can be used as an audio interface if you’re into recording, or want to explore that someday.

Modeling technology today is so good that most people can’t tell the difference between the model and the real thing. I think you’ll have a lot more fun with a modeler, but there is a  learning curve.
