Helix Rack “Pass thru” question

Good morning gang.
I’m trying to set up a simple, wet/dry/wet rig.

Guitar to Marshall, effects send on Marshall to front Helix input.
2 signal paths panned left and right. No amps or cab IR’s, just simple/common time based effects.
L/R outputs from Helix to Seymour Duncan Powerstage 700. SD outs to cabs.

Question. Can I use the “Guitar Thru” on the back of to the Helix to return of the Marshall? Will it be “dry”?

I’m guessing my 2 “wet” paths will carry the Marshall’s preamp tone?

I know I know…Try it!!!

Waiting on the arrival of the SD.

I’m struggling.
1) My Helix tones are amazing but I get buried in a live situation when there’s a 2nd guitar. I don’t/can’t run to FOH.
2) My Marshall tone is amazing but lacks the endless options of the Helix.

Any help/experience will be welcome.

Thanks!

The dry through should work for your return.

When you get burried in a mix that can have multiple causes.

This might help:

  • listen to your amp from another angle
  • use appropriate volume
  • often making your sound more mid-focused helps
  • try to find a complementary sound that works with the 2nd guitar
