lohjohannes
Hi all, this is probably a rookie question, but I do encounter the issue that Pod Farm sounds different between the stand-alone and plug-in versions. When using as VST in Reaper, it sounds more distorted (without distortion on). It does not sound bad per se, just as if the plug-in adds more amp distortion. The only difference I can see is that the stand-alone is working with a mono signal (which should be correct), and the plug-in in Reaper with a stereo signal. I read that there is supposed to be a mono plugin version, but I cannot seem to find it. Some posts I read are pretty old, so maybe it does not exist anymore. My questions to you: - Can this mono-stereo difference cause such sound differences? - Is this a common issue? - If not, any idea what may be causing this? Again, I am far from a pro in terms of home recording. In fact, I am primarily a drummer, so very basic knowledge about guitar recording in general. Also, I am using Windows 11, Reaper 7.12 and Pod Farm 2.59. I have been trying to research this quite some time, and fiddled around a bunch myself, but do not seem to be able to figure it out. So any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks and Best, Johannes
silverhead
You can force a preset to be mono (single Tone) by using the Dual Tone button in the main Control Bar. Click it off and your preset will collapse to a single Tone with mono input. If the problem persists try lowering the Input Level using the input Control knob. Hope this helps. lohjohannes
Hi silverhead, thanks for your reply! First, I du not mean mono or single tone, but the input being mono or stereo. Next to the input level knob, it shows one input in my stand alone version, and two in my VST version in reaper. Second, Fiddling with the input level helped a lot indeed! Weird, because the level I observed in both versions was the same. But it worked, so I won't question it. Thanks! Best, Johannes
