CX 200 with Helix FX as midi control question

Hi folks! Just got a catalyst cx 200. I had a helix fx lying around and saw that I can use it as a midi control. From what I have seen so far, I can use it to set up channel switching and controlling the effects in the amp. My question is this: can I also use the effects in the helix fx with the amp via the same connection? How would I do this? Because all I can find out is how to use what is already in the amp via the helix fx.

I would use the 4 Cable Method (4CM) as described in the HX FX manual, in the ’Hooking It All Up’ section. This allows you to use some of your HX FX models before the CX in the signal path (e.g. OD, Comp), and some after the CX (e.g. MOD, Reverb, Delay). On the CX, set the Return switch to the Power Amp setting. You can use the HX FX models in conjunction with the CX FX models as well if you wish.

 

Give it a read and experiment. It can be confusing at first so don’t hesitate to come back with questions.
