arcanjil
How would I do that? Place the FX loop after the selected preamp? How would I cable that to my real amp (Marshall Origin)? I would still like to use the PG's after-preamp effects. ??? gtr -> PG preset -> main out -> my amp RTN (no fx block needed?) ???
silverhead
Check out the 4 Cable Method (4CM) in the Hooking it All Up section of the manual.
arcanjil
I'm using that now. It does not show or tell how to bypass my Origin 50's preamp. What if I just run the Main Out into my amp's FX Return? no FX block needed.
silverhead
the 4CM requires you to have an FX Loop block in the POD Go preset. To bypass your physical amp's preamp section you bypass the FX Loop block in your POD Go preset. Then your signal path is: gtr -> Pod Go preset -> physical amp Return. Additional info re: POD Go preset in 4CM. Your preset should never include a cab block or IR because your physical amp is always providing that component. arcanjil
Do I need an FX loop block with 2CM (GTR IN and Mains Out - to amp FX Return), and if so, where would it go best in the preset?

No you don’t. But if you are only using your physical amp as a cab/speaker you might want to investigate using studio speakers instead. This would allow you to use the full range of cab/IR options in the POD Go. Much more tonal variety. The tonal result would be similar to using headphones in the POD Go, which do require a cab or IR in the preset.
arcanjil
Thanks, but I use a big 4x12 loaded with T-75's. They're OK speakers, but the new 2.0.1 cabs add more depth to the sound.
