HX Stomp XL - Help using MIDI to toggle function of expression pedal

Hi,

I’d like to be able to use MIDI to make my expression pedal (attached to the exp input on the Stomp XL) toggle between controlling volume and wah but am struggling to get it figured out.

I’m sure there is more than one way to do it (eg using MIDI to toggle between exp 1 or 2, and bypassing one block whilst simultaneously engaging the other) but can’t for the life of me work out how to do it.

Use a volume and a wah block:

 

You can then either Bypass Assign both to one foot switch (one block is bypassed, the other engaged) and send the MIDI CC#48+x (x = number of the foot switch) to toggle.

 

Or you can use Bypass Assign to define two different MIDI CCs, one for the wah block, one for volume. Then you need to send both those MIDI CCs e.g. you choose 6 and 7: CC#6=0 and CC#7=127 and the next time  CC#6=127 and CC#7=0.
