SaxyJ
I just got a line 6 m20d, I love its functionalities for my live performances. I tried to check the review on YouTube on how it can serve a purpose for studio recording like some other digital mixer. There is a port for PC and I feel it should get connected to my PC and act as my interface. But I was surprised it didn't work. I downloaded the driver and I could see that it hasn't been updated for Mac since 2016. Please advise on how this can be useful in my studio. Or do I need to get a soundcard before it can work? silverhead
The M20d is designed for live playing. It is not designed to be an audio interface for your DAW. It will record live playing and generate a separate WAV file for each input as well as the stereo mix of inputs. You can do this with a SD card, a USB stick, or directly to your DAW. If you used an SD card or USB stick to capture the recording you can then transfer the WAV files to your DAW and continue with overdubbing, adding tracks, etc. But you cannot use the M20d as an audio interface to your DAW.
