GATEBAR
I need to install HN on a different computer and I have downloaded the installation onto my desktop. When I double click the icon, it seems to install ok. When it has finished, I do not have an icon on the desktop, so can't open it. I have looked in my programmes list and all I have is the Helix Native uninstall. Could anyone please help? Clive

Clive HI, again Clive, When seeking assistance from other users it is generally a great help to know what your Computer Specification, Operating System and DAW are. Anyhow from your previous posts, as I understand it you are running Windows with Acoustica MIxcraft, but that may have changed. You don't appear to be having very much luck with this stuff. I will direct you to this information as to where it has should have been installed. Hope this helps/makes sense.
GATEBAR
Hi DC, Thanks for your assistance, once again. I appreciate you helping an old man (0: I have followed the instructions and loaded the programme into my DAW, without problem. However, when I open up HN in my DAW, I have no signal. I have tried the 3 different DAW drivers - Core Audio; ASIO; WAVE. My guitar is giving me a good signal to my interface. Am I missing something??? Clive Hi, Clive, I’m not entirely sure what you are experiencing. Originally, in an earlier post you said you were using Mixcraft on your computer. In this thread you said you were moving to a different computer, which I guess means you will still be using Mixcraft? If that’s the case, then you have to ask yourself what else has changed while moving. If you had it working normally on the other machine, and you have installed both Mixcraft and Native correctly, it should (in theory) just work. I’m a Mac user so this thing with drivers is out of my area, but I do wonder why you feel you would need to mess with them - it could well open another can of worms. Also, your description of the issue is rather vague. You say that your guitar is giving a good signal to your interface. This prompts me ask - what audio interface are you using? You also state that when you open Native in your DAW, there is no signal. O.K., but you don’t say if you can get a guitar signal direct from the AI into a basic track, with no plug-ins? It’s not clear if you have everything working as it should, but lose audio when Native is loaded. Without knowing exactly what is happening, and in what order, without being there to see what’s happening it’s like clutching at straws. More specific info would possibly help. Hope this helps/makes sense. Note: As for the “old man” thing - there are many of us in here that are not that far behind you, so it won’t wash with us ;-)
GATEBAR
Hi DC, Thanks fopr your response. Yes, I'm still using Mixcraft. The reason I went through the three DAW drivers (pls see image), is because the one that opened never gave me a signal, so I tried the others. The interface I'm using is a Behringer UR22 mkII - do you think I should perhaps try the Focusrite? I do get a strong signal to my DAW without the HN open. Oh dear what a muddle you are in, my friend. I'm not convinced that this is a Helix Native problem - more likely how your interface is set up. Surely it would be easy enough to check the setting that you used on the other computer. I'm also confused to see what you are using for the Audio Interface, because looking back over your earlier posts, you mentioned that you had a Helix Rack? Anyhow, you must be actually connected to a Steinberg UR22mkII, as there is no such Behringer model (looks like one item that Uli didn't make a clone of). Plus, a quick look at the Acoustica Mixcraft 10 user guide, under the Audio Hardware Setup states:- WINDOWS AUDIO DEVICE FORMATS Type Notes WaveRT The default option. Latency down to 20 milliseconds. WaveRT Exclusive Takes over the computer’s audio, but will work down to three milliseconds of latency. This option is available when WaveRT is selected. Audio from other programs and Windows will not work at the same time that you are in this mode. ASIO Best for playback and recording synchronization. Must have a supported ASIO driver for your sound device. Wave Only use if absolutely necessary. As you can see it clearly says only use Wave if necessary, and it looks like you have that selected. I'm not familiar with Mixcraft, but it does seem that there is a button marked "Default Device Settings". Clicking that would seem like a good idea to me. Try that and see what happens. Also check the Steinberg site to see if there is an updated driver for the UR22. Hope this helps/makes sense.

GATEBAR
Hi DC, I'm back - now fit and well!!! I have uninstalled and reinstalled the interface drivers and strangely everything seems ok, so I don't really know what happened, other than maybe I never downloaded them correctly???? However, I appreciate your help and advice. Take care. Rgds - Clive 1

Remember, you are dealing with a computer and they can be prone to weirdness. This was possibly a small glitch, and sometimes a glitch can be fixed with something as simple as restarting the machine. Have fun!
