Placater dirty preamp in 4 cable method results in noise / hiss

Hello,

I am new to this forum since I recently bought a Stomp XL. I am trying to get a nice hotrodded Marshall sound by using a Placater dirty preamp in the Stomp XL with the 4 cable method on my Peavy Classic 30.

In short my signal flow in the Stomp XL: Compressor >>  FX Loop L >> Placater Dirty Pre-amp >> Delay

I experience a  lot of noise / hiss in the patch. Does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong?

Maarten

Your partial description of your setup makes me think that you're not understanding how 4cm works.

You do not NEED 4cm to accomplish your goal.

Guitar>HXS Input>Compressor>Placater>Delay>HXS L/MONO Out (probably set to INSTRUMENT Level)>PV Return.

If it still hisses look at the compressor settings/try a different compressor.
