darcy2386
I've played 2 shows now with my POD Go where I use it straight into the PA without an amp / cab on stage just straight through mixer out of some Yamaha MSR400 speakers I believe. My brother who is the sound tech told me tonight that my rhythm tone sounded pretty decent all though maybe slightly harsh. The main issue was my lead tone apparently which my brother described as very " in your face " and too forward in the mix I guess? I have a reverb on my lead tone so I figured that would help but apparently not. I don't really know how else to describe it other than too in your face / shrill / harsh maybe? I have a cut at 5khz in the IR block and the presence / treble down as well. Maybe I have the mids too high and its cutting too much in the mix? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you,
theElevators
There should be little difference between your rhythm/lead tone. What I do, and most people don't necessarily agree, is I take an EQ and boost 2K frequency to around 6 db, to taste. That makes the leads pop. I do a/b tests, and dial in the EQ so that the tone is nearly the same, just more present and in your face.
