rblissett
To start, I've been using a Helix LT for the last 5 years, and playing live with it. My workflow is something I wanted to copy over to my new stomp XL as I like the smaller footprint and for my current band, it suits all my needs. But I've not really found anyone else that is doing it this way. I've seen people split the signal and put a separate IR in the 2nd path for monitoring and something different for FOH. I'm just confused why, and maybe you guys can shed some light as to why I maybe not want to do it the same way I've been doing it. I'm all ears. This is what I'm setup for (remember I've never gigged with this stomp, it's literally brand new for me), but I'm using the output jacks with TRS > XLR conversion cables to use as FOH stereo connection, then I've decided to use the headphone jack to run to my POWERCAB as an onstage amp/monitor, and for me the advantage is the volume control will only turn up the volume going to my POWERCAB and not pissing off the FOH guy. However, from the videos I've been watching I've seen people using the send for monitor mix with separate IR and other combinations that now remove the FX send return that could be used by other pedals and such. But again, maybe this is a better way but I guess the real question is this, is my method flawed or do you guys see this as a practical way to do things. At the end of the day, I would think you really want your stage amp (FRFR) to mimic what FOH is producing. LMK, always interested in other views. Cheers! denitronik
I have the same HX Stomp XL setup, the main outputs to FOH and the headphone output to my two FRFR wedges for my own monitoring. Works great and I keep all the DSP blocks for sound design.

People will usually do that when they are using a traditional cab or amp/cab on stage. They don't use a different IR's, they simply put the send before any IR. FWIW, my approach is similar to yours but with an LT.
rblissett
Ok thx guys, seems like we both do similar hookups. Again, I was just second guessing myself as I like having individual control of my power cab as really it doubles more as a monitor, also, similar to how I route my LT.
