HANUSPOWER
After installing the 2.5 firmware update, all my patches sound like crap now. I spent countless hours over years tweaking and perfecting my patches and in one update it screwed them all up. I dug into what changed on my patches and it's everything.....every parameter is now at different settings and I have no idea how to get it back.....years of work gone. I am needless to say PISSED!!!! Has anyone else had a similar experience?? Is there anyway to restore my pod go back to the previous firmware version and restore my patches? Thanks for any help! silverhead
After updating did you perform the recommended factory reset and then restore your backup file created during the update procedure? If not, try that now.
HANUSPOWER
No, I didn't perform a factory reset....I will try that tonight and see if it works. Thanks

Is there a way to roll back to the previous firmware version then restore from backup?? I was able to download the previous Firmware version from the Line 6 Website but how do you install it? silverhead
You need to keep the firmware and POD Go Edit versions in sync. So begin by downloading and installing the v2.0 POD Go Edit installation package. Install all components and notice that the Line 6 Updater program will be reinstalled. Run this program and select the Update from File option, pointing to the v2.0 firmware file that you have already downloaded. After the firmware update perform a factory reset and then restore the most recent working backup file including Global Settings and IRs. Finally, manually import previously saved setlists/presets that you know are not affected. Once you have v2.0 installed and working properly you can try updating to v2.50 again, beginning with downloading and installing POD Go Edit v2.50. Follow the instructions carefully. What you experienced should not have happened. If it happens again open a support ticket.

I don't understand what this thing did. I even tried restoring back to a backup I did last month and same results. When I look at some of my settings they are weird....for example when I look at the distance that the mic is from the speaker cabinet, it says it's at 2.3"......you can't even naturally select that....you can select 2.0" or 2.5" but not in between. All my patches are equally screwed up and sound really harsh and nasty. I'm now on POD Edit 2.0 and Firmware Version 2.01. Any help would be appreciated! silverhead
I’ve never heard of that before. Have you changed anything in your monitoring equipment? Is it possible your presets use IRs but your IR library is empty? The factory reset removes all IRs; did you restore them? Open a support ticket. fyi… POD Go Edit only allows incremental jumps in 1/2” or 1/4” units. I think that on the device itself you can set 1/10” increments but I’m not certain. That is possible, I did have an IR there that didn’t get restored. IRs are saved when you do a backup right? I can just restore it from the latest backup? After selecting a specific backup file you will see a list of items to restore, including IRs. All items are selected by default. De-select the items you do not want to restore. In your case I would suggest you restore only IRs and Global Settings.

So what I did was do a restore from an older backup and now it's back to normal!!!! Thank GOD!! So I made a new backup today and everything seems to be working normal again. I'm just going to leave it "as is" and not update to 2.5 at this time! Thanks for all your help with troubleshooting!
silverhead
Glad everything is OK again. I understand your reluctance to try updating to v2.50 again but what happened took you is a real anomaly and I would not expect it to happen again. It’s really important to follow the update instructions exactly, especially the first step of downloading and installing all components of the v2.50 POD Go Edit package.
