Powercab and mandolin IRs

I have been posting on here a lot about getting a great acoustic sound with acoustic IRs and PC stuff in general and I am getting close. Since I was working on this I decided to try some mandolin IRs from a company called 3 Sigma Audio. They only had three but they are cool in that you get to download IRs specific to your pick up system, in my case a K&K. It is a game changer for me. I use either a Martin or a Taylor IR for my acoustic and now I have the PC+ set up to where I just turn around and dial the knob up one and there is my mando IR.Totally cool!

I don't know if there are a lot of sensitive acoustic players using PC or Line 6 stuff, but I do. And it is really helpful for me/

BTW, I also play a lot of sreaming loud electric music too.

I use IRs for mandolin and acoustic guitar. I make my own using Logic Pro's match EQ capability. I've also created a python program that will create them. At some point I'll get around to putting a UI on that and submit it to open source.

However, I've found the IRs for the mandolin don't work as well as I had hoped. They tend to have a bit of an EQ spike, probably because of how I mic'd them when capturing the audio to produce the IRs. This tends to increase feedback issues. If I blend the K&K raw pickup with the IR, I can get better results.

So I am using a Grace preamp into the PC with the IR on the PC. How do you blend the K&K and the IR. I can see how if I am using a Helix or Stomp but LMK if there is a way to do the blend on the PC.

Also, what mandolin did you mic for your homemade IRs?

thx
