LMC53
The two jacks for the PodGo FX loop are both labeled 'Stereo' (in brackets) on the back panel. My question is: if a MONO instrument cable gets plugged into the FX Loop Send output, can that cause damage to the PodGo? The big worry is this. My guess is the Send output jack is wired for a TRS Stereo instrument cable, with the first channel on the Tip, the second channel on the Ring, and the shared ground on the Sleeve. If the cable that gets plugged in is just Mono, with only Tip + Sleeve, then it seems the second channel output must get shorted to ground on the sleeve, because there just isn't any physical Ring to keep it separated ...? On the PodGo, the FXloop can be selected as either Stereo or Mono. Is this issue avoided if it's selected as Mono? If anyone has knowledge or experience on this, it would be much appreciated. Thanks! grdGo33
Been using the fx loop with a mono pedal looper without any issue, other than losing stereo.. So I doubt there is any risk of damage, I'm not savvy enough as to guarantee it given the particular schematics of the Go... My guess is that if you could blow it up by going mono/stereo cables there would be big warnings everywhere in manual and rear, so risk of shorts should be null; Line6 engineers likely factored everything in their design.
