Why does  pod HD 500x cause a blue screen of death on the computer running windows 10 when I use pod HD 500x edit ?

Because there’s something wrong with the installation of either HX Edit or Win 10, or a conflict between HX Edit and some other program installed on your computer. I would look for any USB issues first.

Thanks, it's a usb cable with a ferrite core that causes a blue screen of death but if I use a cable without a ferrite core I get a lot of background noise or interference.

Avoid turning off or disconnecting the device while it is in use by any running application or by the operating system if selected as the primary audio interface.

When you close the application that uses the POD wait a moment longer before disconnecting or turning off the device.

That said, I still get the BSOD, but very rarely.

Also, USB connections are unfortunately too delicate, sometimes even accidentally touching the head of a USB cable that is already inserted can momentarily lose the connection and crash the system.
