Exp pedal 2/Ext Amp possibility

Hello all. I am trying to control the stop/start function (CTL1) of a Boss RC 5 looper with my Line 6 Helix functioning as the external controller. I have the two devices connected via TRS 1/4 inch cable, using the Stop/Memory Shift input on the RC 5. I’m connected to the Exp Pedal 2/Ext Amp input on the Helix.

In the Command Center, using the Ext Amp function, I’ve tried every combination of momentary, latching, ring, tip, etc.,. Nothing seems to work.

Any ideas if this is possible? I added the instructions for adding an external footswitch , but they are for a Boss controller. I’m not sure if the Helix can do this.

In the Command Center, using the Ext Amp function, I’ve tried every combination of momentary, latching, ring, tip, etc.,. Nothing seems to work.

Do you have 2 switches, one set to TIP and the other set to RING?

Based on your screenshot, one of those should work set to MOMENTARY.

Polarity setting is unclear. HXS specifies this setting for BOTH FS and EXP.

Helix only specifies EXP. You can try it, I could have missed it or it could just be an oversight in the Helix documentation.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I tried setting up 2 switches, one set for tip, and one set for ring. I flip flopped them, as well. I also switched the polarity in the global settings. I tried momentary and latching. No luck!

It seems like it should be possible though, right?
