Any way to cap or reduce the volume when connected to PC through USB?

Hey yall, so I've been having this problem where when I have my amp plugged into my pc, which I usually do to record or play along with songs through Spotify or YouTube, the volume of the "speakers" on windows is insanely loud through my headphones. I end up having to set it to like 3/100. This makes it still loud but not destroying my eardrums loud, but obviously leaves very little room for adjustment. On top of this, it occasionally sets itself back too 100 volume when I turn on my pc and then I end up getting my ears ATTACKED.

Is there a way, through windows, or the amp itself to limit or cap the volume at say volume 100 being the equivalent of what is now volume 10?

Set your Playback Device to the computer's sound card. Then you can use the app (Spotify, YT) to control the level.

You'll need a 1/8" Stereo cable to connect the computer to the Cat's AUX IN.

The only problem with this is that I cannot record into a DAW for when I'm writing stuff. I suppose I could just alternate between the 2 however.

As long as you're using the Cat as the ASIO device in the DAW it still works.

The AUX IN hits the signal at the power amp where it mixes with the processed guitar signal.

Or you could get a proper interface with enough inputs to allow you to do both at the same time.

I know.

Costs $, and then you lose the DI capability unless you also get an ABY box, more money, more wires.

Of course, then you'd also be able to record the source material alongside your guitar.

Compromises suck.
