Vanderdecker
My goal is to accomplish the following with as few foot taps as possible. Snap Shot 1 (panned left) enter looper and create a single simple loop. Enter Snap Shot 2 (panned right)and play with loop(still panned left). Enter Snap shot 3 (full stereo with different effects) with all loops stopping when entering this snapshot. (this should be possible with a single tap right??) Right now I feel like I need to be Fred Astaire to accomplish this. There has got to be some tricks to make this smoother. Advice? Jack310West
Hello! You're looking for seamless transitions in your looper, especially stopping all loops with one tap. This "Fred Astaire" problem is solved by configuring your looper's Memory (Snapshot) change behavior. For Snap Shot 3, you need to find the specific setting within upsers that memory's parameters (e.g., "Play Mode," "Memory Change Playback," or "Stop Loops on Memory Change") that automatically halts all active loops when Snap Shot 3 is engaged. Also, ensure your looper's global memory change settings allow loops to continue across Snap Shots 1 and 2 if desired. Consult your looper's manual for precise terminology and menu navigation. silverhead
@Jack310West: You are describing a standalone fully featured looper device. Problem is the internal looper in Helix or any other Line 6 device is not one of those. @Vanderdecker: The looper included in Helix is not really designed for live play. It’s more of a practice and tone shaping tool. I have tried and never managed to integrate the required tap dance into a live performance. There seems to be no practical way to avoid the complex tap dancing. If you need easy looping for live performances you should use a standalone fully featured looper.
Vanderdecker
@silverhead Solution Found! Ok, I take no credit for this solution but....I posted this on reddit as well and the command center instant commands was the needed trick!! You can connect an instant command via the lightening bolt icon to a snapshot. so now when I tap snapshot 1 it also starts recording the loop, snapshot 2 plays the loop, and snapshot 3 stops the loop. All the while I have whatever amp and effects I needed running in those snapshots...so for example if I want a clean loop but distortion on top, BAM that can now be done!! here is the thread
silverhead
Thanks for the info. I guess never tried the looper again after the introduction of the Command Center in a firmware update.
