[BUG] Snapshot parameters not recalled correctly – Helix LT v3.80

Hardware: Helix LT

Firmware/Editor: Firmware 3.80 (build 7d01f5e), HX Edit 3.80

OS: macOS Sonoma on MacBook Pro M2 (no hub, direct USB-C to USB-A adapter)

Global Settings: Snapshot Edits = Recall

Attach Preset: Can upload .hlx test file if needed

Bug description:

When changing a parameter (e.g., Drive, Channel Volume) in the Amp block between two snapshots, Helix does not store the values individually per snapshot.

After saving, both snapshots retain the same value — always the last one edited.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a brand new preset

  2. Insert a single Amp block (e.g., Brit Plexi Brt)

  3. Go to Snapshot 1 → Set Drive to 5.0

  4. Save the preset

  5. Go to Snapshot 2 → Set Drive to 7.0

  6. Save again

  7. Switch back to Snapshot 1 → Drive is now also 7.0, not 5.0

Same happens with Channel Volume or any other amp parameter.

Additional notes:

  • No controller assignments are present (confirmed via HX Edit and on-device)

  • Volume/Pan block was also tested but its Gain parameter is not snapshot-compatible (expected)

  • Same behavior occurs with other amp models

  • Factory Reset has been performed (FS 9+10)

  • Bug still occurs with absolutely clean preset

  • HX Edit and firmware both up to date (v3.80)

  • Snapshot Edits setting is correctly set to Recall

Please confirm if this is a known bug in version 3.80 or if anyone has found a reliable workaround (other than duplicating amp blocks per snapshot).

Any help is appreciated

In HX Edit, RIGHT-CLICK on the parameter.

In the drop-down list that appears, scroll down to and select SNAPSHOTS.

The parameter value will turn white and be enclosed in brackets.

SAVE THE PRESET.

In each SNAPSHOT that you plan to use set the desired value for that parameter in that SNAPSHOT and SAVE THE PRESET.

EDIT: The PAN block does not have a GAIN parameter. RECALL simply means that you can change all of your SNAPSHOTS without needing to SAVE THE PRESET until you're done. It also means that while playing changes made manually to assigned parameters will be retained between SNAPSHOT changes until you change the preset but will not be permanent unless you SAVE THE PRESET.

Thanks a lot, @rd2rk!

That was exactly the missing piece. I hadn’t explicitly assigned the parameters (Drive, Channel Volume) to Snapshots using the right-click → Snapshots option in HX Edit. Once I did that and saw the value turn white and enclosed in brackets, everything started working perfectly.

I confirmed that:

  • Each snapshot now retains its own values for Drive and Channel Volume.

  • Switching snapshots properly recalls the correct values.

  • Saving the preset after adjustments makes them persistent, as expected.

I really appreciate your clear and concise explanation — it saved me hours of frustration. Hopefully this helps others who run into the same issue with firmware 3.80.

Thanks again!
