mitchmarkell
Hey my Helix friends. I was wondering what the group might have to say about the big round volume knob and best sound quality thru a PA or no-color add amplifier for live performance(?) Let's assume you are not using a volume pedal block in your chain to keep the conversation more narrow. My instincts tell me to run the volume knob at 100% and then trim accordingly at the PA or amp. Still, there is that possibility that the output is too hot for a line input and create distortion or lack clarity with that approach. So I often run it at 75% or 3:00 as you look at the dial, simply because I have never done a deep dive on the cause and effect of the volume setting. theElevators
This has bee posted before. In summary: 1. when building presets, make sure your overall volume for a blank preset is around the same as the actual preset you are creating to avoid clipping. 2. set up XLR volume to be Mic level and disable the volume knob, so it's fixed. This will go to the FOH and will never change the level, because you don't want to confuse the sound guy by having different volume levels. 3. use the volume knob to only control 1/4" out which is your monitor mix, or in my case which is going to a power amp (Mooer Baby Bomb) into a 12" speaker cab. 1

For live performance volume settings on Helix Floor, many players suggest setting your global output so the clean Patch level sits around unity and then using the Volume block or external pedal to control overall mix, which avoids clipping the PA and keeps headroom. Consistent gain staging between patches also smooths out transitions. While dialing in your sound and waiting for feedback from bandmates, some guitarists take short breaks with https://casinosanalyzer.com/free-slots-online/Lightning-Roulette to stay relaxed and focused. Thank you, I will keep it in mind.
