tlathbury Posted yesterday at 05:42 PM Share Posted yesterday at 05:42 PM Is anyone else experiencing this ? I have midi cable between my Helix Stadium and PC 212 Plus to control volume of the PC with my foot pedal. I have no other midi functions programmed, other than the volume thru the foot controller. Sound to PC 212 Plus connected thru XLRs. For communication between PC 212 and Helix, in order to have the Helix Stadium control speaker models of the PC 212 Plus I previously was under the impression it would require the new (yet to be released) Expand D10 Box connected with L6 cable. BUT....then all of the sudden I noticed that when I am changing presets on the Helix Stadium it is changing the selected speaker models on my PC 212 !!! I disconnected USB and Wifi at first to see if it was somehow happening through my computer, but none of that changed anything. Then I disconnected the midi cable and that finally stopped the behavior. Wow crazy stuff ! Problem is I have no idea how to change which speaker models it selects. Sometimes it seems to be selecting the model associated with the cab block in the preset, but other times it seems random. There is another issue associated with this, since the cab block in my preset is active I end up with double processing and it creates a muffled tone....when I go into the preset and turn off the cab block that fixes it....or I can go into PC edit and change back to FRFR and that fixes it with a different result/sound. In any event this behavior appears to be a bug, or perhaps a remnant of prior programming from the product development cycle. However, it certainly would be great if they could properly implement this midi capability and make it useful, then alleviate the need to buy the $220 Expand D10 box just to have an L6 connection !!! Well I have installed the most recent Helix Stadium firmware update but still plenty of bugs, sound dropouts etc. Still in the return period, so reconsidering my purchase here. I love the unit and the new features and the sound, but these bugs, not sure how long I feel like living with that or how long the fixes are going to take. silverhead Posted yesterday at 06:42 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:42 PM Perhaps the Stadium is sending a MIDI PC command whenever a preset is loaded, and perhaps the Power Cab is responding to that? You can turn that off in the Stadium’s Global Settings -> MIDI.
