t-ario
About an hour ago, I updated from version 1.3 to 1.3.1 It got worse after the update. The Helix Stadium Windows app only detects the device in one out of three possible network configurations. Since the update, only the following works: Laptop via LAN, Helix Stadium via Wi-Fi Now the following no longer work: Laptop via Wi-Fi, Helix Stadium via LAN It didn't work before either: Laptop via Wi-Fi, Helix Stadium via Wi-Fi The information below only applies up to version 1.3 I'm experiencing a reproducible connection error between my laptop and the Helix Stadium. The Helix Stadium Windows app only detects the device in two out of three possible network configurations. Tested Scenarios: Laptop via Wi-Fi, Helix Stadium via Wi-Fi: The Helix Stadium Windows app does not detect the Helix Stadium. Laptop via LAN, Helix Stadium via Wi-Fi: The Helix Stadium Windows app detects the Helix Stadium without any problems. Laptop via Wi-Fi, Helix Stadium via LAN: The Helix Stadium Windows app detects the Helix Stadium without any problems. Summary: When both devices are connected via Wi-Fi simultaneously, the Helix Stadium is not detected. Detection works in all other combinations. Edited March 26 by t-ario It got worse after the update.
silverhead
Have you restarted all devices (computer, WiFi/router, Stadium) to test if that fixes things? If you conclude that this is a bug that should be reported and open a support ticket this is something that will likely be asked, so no harm in doing it soon, at your convenience. It’s nice to see how determined you are to keep the Line6 flag flying. My post is the result of a systematic test that took over an hour. As a former software developer, I know how to run such tests properly. Shortly after I wrote the post and opened the support ticket, the update to version 1.3.1 was released and things actually got worse. The USB‑RJ45 adapter I had used in the previous test (RTL8153 chip) was no longer recognized at all. I had another USB‑RJ45 adapter (AX88179 chip), which was detected, but the outcome is already described above. I also updated the support ticket accordingly. I’ve noticed several additional inconsistencies, but I simply don’t have the time or motivation to analyze all of this in a systematic way again. In my opinion, the firmware is not yet ready for a public beta test. Since the return window for the device is about to expire, I will be sending it back. silverhead
Sorry if you were offended. I, of course, had no idea of you at your background. Similar responses to others sometimes get a different follow-up about how they would like me to explain further due their lack of technical knowledge. How is one to know? Hope to see you back if and when Stadium becomes the device you want it to be.
