Helix Stadium XL Team - Any chance you will bring back MIDI commands for each Foot Switch?

Hi Helix Stadium XL Team,

I own the Helix Stadium XL and often have it on my desk when working with it and not using in a live playing situation.

I do this because like many of us, I'm not able to continuously lean down to use it while on the floor.

I know I can use the Helix App, which I also use and think is really well done!

When I'm working with the Stadium XL on the desk, I can use my 8 switch MIDI foot controller on the floor and between what I can reach over and physically tough on the XL and what I can do with the MIDI foot controller, I can simulate just about everything I want to do when testing things out to be ready to use the XL in a live situation when I move the XL to the floor.

One big missing feature is having the ability to map switches on my MIDI foot controller to directly to each FootSwitch on the XL using CC MIDI commands (ie: MIDI CCx for FootSwitch 1 on the XL, etc). I see that this feature was available in prior Helix version, but seems to have been explicitly removed from the XL.

I realize I can map midi from the foot controller to blocks that are assigned to foot switches, but what I'm talking about is the ability to map a foot controller switch directly to a specific Foot Switch on the XL, as was available in prior Helix models.

Any chance you will bring this back?

Thanks,

Dan

I really wanted to use the Stadium XL for my upcoming tour to enjoy the new Agoura amps, but for now, I have to put it aside. To be honest, it is quite disappointing and I never expected this feature to be missing, as it was such a helpful part of the original Helix.
I have a repertoire of about fifty songs, all automated via DAW using global MIDI footswitch emulation. For my specific workflow, Snapshots are not a solution. I need granular control mid-song, where different combinations of blocks turn on and off at specific moments. Re-programming all fifty songs with individual MIDI CCs for every single block would be a massive amount of work. Instead of sending one command to toggle a footswitch that controls multiple blocks, I would have to send up to five separate messages every time.

Furthermore, even if I wanted to redo this work, the interface makes it difficult. When I touch a footswitch, the screen only displays two of the many assigned bypass or parameter functions. This makes it impossible to see everything assigned to a single switch at a glance, further complicating the process.

This functionality is very important for my setup and how I perform. Line 6, please consider bringing global MIDI footswitch emulation back to the Stadium XL!

Hi Helix Stadium XL Team,

Cross-posting won't change this from being an end-user forum to some form of official L6 user request forum. But at least you've found someone else who wants that feature.

danmalks,

For my clarification, are you saying the bypass/control feature for each individual footswitch FX block won't work for your needs?  This may be a dumb question.  I just want to make sure I am not misunderstanding your need.

Thanks for any clarification or correction.
