blank000
"Upgraded" to W11. And Reaper refuses to see Helix. Helix it self is connected to PC just fine, HX Edit works fine, playing Audio from PC through Helix works fine. But when I try to select Helix as device in Reaper this is what I get: This is in options, ASIO driver is there, but inputs and outputs are empty. When I select Direct sound, I'm still getting sound through Helix! Latest Windows, latest Reaper, latest HX Edit and accompanied drivers. I found an old Reddit thread where removing Helix as default device is suggested. Tried it. Didn't work. Reinstalled drivers, didn't work. Anything to be done? Thank in advance! rd2rk
IDK how you reinstalled the drivers, but if you re-install the latest version of HX Edit (download it - v3.82), that is the correct way. You MAY have to uninstall all L6 drivers, reboot and try again if re-installing HX Edit alone fails to solve the problem. Sometimes having multiple old versions installed can cause issues. Did exactly that, didn't help. On 4/14/2026 at 10:44 PM, rd2rk said: You MAY have to uninstall all L6 drivers, reboot and try again if re-installing HX Edit alone fails to solve the problem. Just tried it. Uninstalled L6 drivers and HX Edit, reboot, reinstall. No change, the exact same behavior. rd2rk
I have Reaper and Helix installed on two different W11 machines, one upgraded from W10, no problems. What processor is in your computer? Mine are both i7, different gens (7 & 11). I've read of people with other processors having problems. Assuming you've got an Intel processor, try installing one of the other FREE DAWs such as LIVE Intro, see if you still have problems. Maybe Reaper somehow got corrupted? I tried with Cakewalk Sonar, and even though I have no idea what I'm doing in that thing, it looks like everything works. Detected Helix right away, recording on 1-2 records wet, on 7-8 dry, opens Helix ASIO settings... On 4/15/2026 at 1:17 AM, rd2rk said: Maybe Reaper somehow got corrupted? I wrote "upgraded" to W11, but I didn't actually upgrade from 10, it was format C: kinda thing, everything is brand new. But it's obviously a Reaper thing, not Windows or Helix thing. I'll switch to Reaper forum. Thank you for your help!
blank000
Well, apparently installing Sonar also fixed Reaper :D
