HermanLindqvist
Hello, I’m using POD Farm 2 with a Line 6 UX1 and Cubase Elements on Windows 10. I’m experiencing a significant difference in sound between POD Farm 2 standalone and the POD Farm 2 VST plugin (loaded as an insert) in Cubase. The standalone version sounds noticeably fuller and more natural, while the VST version sounds thinner, more boxy and somewhat lifeless. I have tried to make the two setups as identical as possible: Same POD Farm preset Same Tone A Same amp/cab/effects settings Global Gate is OFF in both A/B routing is set to Tone A in both Input levels are approximately identical Tone A output levels are approximately identical Cubase channel is mono → stereo POD Farm is the only insert on the Cubase MONITOR channel No EQ or other processing is applied before or after POD Farm I have also compared the Tone A input and output meters in both versions, and they show approximately the same levels. In Cubase, the only available plugin entry is: POD Farm 2 (x64) I do not get separate entries for “POD Farm Mono” and “POD Farm Stereo”. My main questions are: Is POD Farm 2 (x64) the correct plugin for a mono guitar input in Cubase? Is there a specific mono or mono-to-stereo version of the plugin that I should be using? Is there a known reason why the standalone version can sound significantly different from the VST version when the preset and levels are matched? Is there any setting in POD Farm, Cubase or the UX1 that could cause this difference? I would be happy to provide screenshots, the exact POD Farm version, Cubase version, or any other information you need. Thank you!
silverhead
I notice that you are using the Line 6 UX1 as the audio interface. That product included a license for the original POD Farm plugin, not POD Farm 2. Is it possible that you are using different versions of POD Farm for comparison? No, both the standalone app and the plugin are PodFarm 2.
