Flurkmaster
Hi fellow music/helix enthusiasts! Although I love the new Helix Stadium XL, it had the same downside for me as all modelers: it requires a lot of programming, thinking and tinkering with settings to create the sound you wanted. Guitar playing is just a hobby and I'd rather spend my spare time playing, not building patches. Factory patches might come close, but there's so many of them and they can be hard to navigate. Since I'm an IT professional and I'm using AI to assist me in many endeavors, I wondered if I could have Claude Code assist me in my hobby. Turns out I could. PiFromBRC
I've used ChatGPT to guide me through a few preset builds. My process is to upload a flac of the tone I'm after. It's been good for identifying the best blocks/models to use, the order within which to use them, and trouble shooting. Once I have the basic signal chain set up I enter things like "tone is too round" or "not enough bite" and it's actually been quite good at teaching me how to dial in more bite, etc. My only complaint is that I have to consistently upload screenshots of the parameters, but that's a minor inconvenience to a pretty strong payoff. When I go to set up a tone I enter which guitar (brand/year/model), pups, capacitors, etc I'm using which helps tremendously. Then I start critiquing the tone and it walks me through using the various blocks to better achieve it. At the end, once I'm happy with the tone, I have it set up a flow chart showing all the settings from pups and pots through models and individual parameters so I have a backup and can literally hand it off to someone looking to recreate it.
