Mareckiwt Posted yesterday at 11:44 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:44 AM I'm an original Helix Native owner, and owned Helix Rack in the past and Helix Effects. I'm wondering if the effects section in new Stadium Native is based on some new algorithms. See, I wasn't quite satisfied with effects back then when used Helix Rack. I do not play the guitar, I play the electric violin instead, so I have completly no interest in amp sims, just care about peq, compressors, delays, reverbes and especially harmonizing effects. So as I do own original Helix Native, the pricing for Helix Stadium Native for me is $100. Do you think it is worth it? Or there was completly no change in effects algorithms? I did install the trial but the forgot about that and now the trial is over and I never tested the pitch and eq, dynamics effects. And further, I need to get a effects unit for my electric violin and also for the rest of the band (small band), I play with backing tracks run in Ableton, and going out to RME UFX+ interface, and a few live instruments, and that's live instruments I'm looking for an effects unit with DSP chip for zero latency. I was between Helix Stadium, Axe FX III, FM9, FM3, Apollo X4/X6 (UAD plugins) for the DSP effects. So looking opinion about effects section in new Helix Stadium (Floor and Native)

The FX are exactly the same algorithms in Stadium as they are in the original Helix. A few more have been added but they use the same modeling technology. Stadium is all about new amp modeling and features, not FX.

That's kind of unfortunate as Stadium should be closing the holes that QC and AxeFX are filling unchallenged, like delays, reverbs and routing. We might as well include connectivity since we're well over a year since launch and the connectivity issues are still a constant issue. Personally, Stadium would've benefitted from staying in the over for an extra 6-12 months so that the firmware and effects could be improved prior to release. It stills feels like a beta in some areas, which isn't something customers should have to deal with. I figured the botched QC launch taught everyone a lesson. Get the product dialed in AND THEN RELEASE IT. Don't get me wrong as this isn't an attack on L6. I love my Stadium as I've loved every Helix/HX unit I've owned, but that said, the Stadium release was rushed and was a poor idea. I'd personally have preferred a more mature product upon release. mookyshoots Posted yesterday at 02:35 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:35 PM The fact that some of the bigger capture brands are not rushing to take up Proxy due to the ongoing issues with the capture process should be an indicator of this.
