FlyingSquirrel
Pretty much just that. Rather than taking a laptop with a thumb drive, I'm wondering if I can do the same thing with the ipad. It would be nice to be able to just travel with my guitar & iPad & rent an HD500X as needed, dump my presets to it via the iPad, and I'm good to go. TheRealZap
I do not believe it's possible to do so, primarily because line6edit/gearbox is a critical piece for properly formatting the tone files.
FlyingSquirrel
Interesting.I hope at some point, you'll be able to just insert a thumb drive directly to the back of the unit such as the HD500X and import them that way, like many synthesizers do. It would make it far less cumbersome for "fly out" gigs in addition to simple backups in case of emergency. Now that L6 is part of Yamaha, perhaps they'll consider this as they already have that function with the Motif's.
