Line 6 Spider (III) settings - Modern Metal, Hard Rock and Punk Rock

This is a new thread specifically for Modern metal, hard rock and punk rock.

Feel free to share the settings you use, and tips on how to get that killer tone.

P.S. no band slagging - everyone is free to leave their settings as long as it comes under the headings. I may make other posts for other types of music when I get more time.

Also, if needed, requests can be entered for anyone who is really struggling for their favourite artists sound.

Any number of settings are allowed

So to kick things off, here is an example of the best way to share your settings

Artist Tone: Avenged sevenfold

(optional, album, song, guitarist)

Amp model: RED Insane (modelled after old style unholly confessions sound)

Drive: 7

Bass: 7

Mid: 8

Treble: 7

Channel volume: 6 (change to preference)

Chorus flange: none

Phaser: none

Tremolo: none

Delay: none

Tape Echo: none

Sweep echo: none

Reverb: none (gives a cold, hard feel to the sound)

Noise Gate: on

shortboard/FVB express optionals

Shortboard used:

Stomp: off

FX loop on

Wah: off

As close to the example as possible is much appreciated, however, if only some information is relevant, then skip what is not needed.

Note: all tones submitted to thread are subject to individuals guitars, so some may need minor tweeking.

HD 500 Drum Looper

I seen a short blurb somewhere about using the free drum loops by L6 - however, I know that I can't port directly into the HD500, but would like some advice on how to capture from the computer to the HD500 part of the drum loop into the HD looper....any assist would be appreciated.

everything is authorized but i dont know why i cant receive any signal when i open my daw reaper software
i dont know how to activate my line 6 into it

Hi All

Sorry if this has been asked before, but i have just got a Brand new hd150 and cab - it is all working fine, but really Hating the distortion sounds - I am not a total AMP Noob, But no matter what Amp / Effect combo i try, I just cannot find a decent smooth distortion that has depth......... I have come to this from A VOX VT100 combo so I didn't really think it would be expecting too much to have this thing sounding good?

I am really hoping it is just me, but the cab just seems to be pretty trebbly even when you adjust the dials and doesn't deliver the depth i thought it would, as it always seems fuzzy sounding.... Can someone please give me some insight and Maybe what settings they use? i have a decent Lead tone out of it, its just the distorted rhythm i can't work out, Nothing Insane, just fairly heavy. (whisky in the jar - metallica, Greenday, bon jovi... etc etc) but as smooth as possible.

To pre-empt some questions... I am using the right cables and both plugged in, Speakers are ok as Clean sounds great.

Hello,

I'm a beginning guitar player, and I was looking for presets for my favorite band.

On the page there is a reference of several presets being dialed in by the band, I downloaded it,

but there is no mention of which ones.

Assigning Spider Jam's Amp Models to FBV Express Mk2

Do I feel lke a klutz.............perhaps the Christmas excesses have frazzled too many neurons but I am completely stuck, bamboozled and confused .

I have enjoyed owning and using a Line 6 Jam amp for a while now and am pretty familiar with its controls. But I have just treated myself to an FBV Express Mk2 with the simple aim of assigning some of the amp models on the Spider Jam to each of the 4 pedals on the FBV.

I have downloaded the Line 6 FBV Control programme to my computer, linked it to the FBV with a USB cable and studied the options. My first problem is that the software says that no Line 6 device is connected even though the software is clearly active. But that aside, I still can't understand how to assign say - Clean, Twang, Blues and Crunch choices to the ABCD pedals. The tones and volume levels already assigned are just not right for me. Everything else (tuner/volume/wah) work just fine.

I am recording my guitar for Youtube video covers. I have a Line6 Spider IV 75 1x12 amp. I need to have a clean rock sound.

I will list a few bands I cover below:

-Three Days Grace

-Papa Roach

-Six: AM

-Bullet For My Valentine

-Deuce

-Axewound

-Green Day

-Blink 182

-Sum 42

I use mainly Drop D and Drop C tuning. I use E for punk/punkrock songs.

I need to know good settings. I am using a Behinger Guitar to USB to record, along with Audacity.

not perfect but pretty close!..nce I realized slash uses the wah as a fixed filter for most of his songs..it was easier to dial in somehting close

Dear Line 6 community,

I was listening to old 1990's, early 2k's nu metal records and found my jaw dropping at the particular tones of Coal Chamber's guitarist Rascon (in particular the straight distorted tone from their 2002 album Dark Days) and the general distorted tone from Ektomorf's last few albums

I am a POD HD500 owner and have tried searching for any community preset that might resemble it but to no avail.

In conducting research as far as their gear is concerned, the general consensus is that they BOTH use the Electroharmonix Big Muff (Most likely the modified one that Korn's guitar techs used to make) in some way or fashion.

I understand that a lot of these tones are at times doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled in recording, but there has to be a combination of Line 6's incredible selection of virtual gear to get a tone somewhat similar to that. I would describe it as the opposite of the general "Djent" tone.

I have also included links to songs that showcase the tones very very well for anyone that is willing to give me a hand with this:

PS: Yes Ektomorf is very Soulfly-ish and Coal Chamber is very reminiscent of old school Korn but they still make me want to smash walls when I lift.

Hey so I just got the spider 4 75W amp and I'm looking to get a Bring Me the Horizon tone, if anyone has some similar sounding settings they could share that be awesome.
