M9 Editor...

Is anyone working on an editor for the M9/M13? I know it made a world of difference to have one for my AX2. Dumping SysEx is a very useful thing, but an editor/librarian program for the PC would be amazing. I'm a "programmer" but have never done anything with MIDI, that and I'm too lazy. Anyone?

Boosting options for M9 in the loop?

Ok fellas,

I'm now running my M9 in my amp's FX loop. I have a BBE Boosta Grande I also ran in there to give myself a good volume boost for solos (particuarly on my amp's drive channel), but when I engage the pedal while it's in the loop, there's a very audible "pop" that is just too annoying, so I took it out.

What options are there to give myself a bit of a clean volumen boost in the M9? I cycled through some of the EQ options but they seemed to muddy the tone a bit, although I wasn't experimenting at full volume. I'll definitely try this again.

What about a comp model? I know comp is best in front, but would it be ok/safe to use a comp in the loop for a volume boost?

Hi all, new to this place but I'm having problems with my M9 / Boss FV500L expression pedal. The issue seems to be that, after updating my firmware to 2.04, all the wah effects are now sounding very rough through the low frequencies (jumping/popping), and I can't seem to get up to the high frequencies now either. Anybody got any ideas ????

M5 Usage Question

Howdy,

Looking to get an M5 for my bass board. Pilot's Guide isn't particularly clear on how the INSTANT PRESET function works. If I enable that setting, how do I turn the pedal on and off? Tap both buttons?

Also, has there ever been a firmware update for the M5 or is the latest still v1.00?

M9 tuner not working when placed in the fx loop?

I've been running my M9 in front of my amp because it's on a board with several pedals, and I am just lazy when it comes to setting up!

However, I decided to get over this, because I think the unit sounds better in the FX loop, and I think the signal from my amp is better with it out of the front chain.

Anyway, I ran it like this for practice yesterday, and when I went to tune my guitar, the tuner wouldn't respond. Yet, the effects worked as they should. Am I doing something wrong? Perhaps I had it wired wrong? Or does the tuner not work in the fx loop?

Pedal board power supply

I recently purchased an M9 to replace several cheap pedals on my pedal board. Now my pedal board consists of a wah,the M9, and a Behringer GDI-21 for recording. The pedal board has a power supply similar to the Visual Sound 1 Spot where the power is daisy-chained between pedals. I got a Line 6 power cable adapter for the daisy-chain and the power works. Unfortunately, I have found that there is a hum that pulses to the beat of the tap-tempo on the M9. I've found information that suggests that this is due to the digital Line 6 modelers not playing well while sharing power with other analog pedals.

I then had to start using the Line 6 power supply, which takes up extra space on my pedal board, and plugging that and the daisy-chained power supply into an extension cord that I run to the wall socket in order to get power to all my pedals. I had also read suggestions to use an isolated power supply. I tried a Joyo JP-02 for which I could not find any information for the actual output specs pre-purchase, but I went with this one because I found it for about half the price of the next lowest priced isolated power supply. It turns out that the highest output for any of the 9V ports is 500 mA, so I can power all of my other pedals, but there is not enough power for the M9. I'm back to where I started in that I have to run two power supplies to the wall outlet (or through a shared extension cord like I have been doing)

I've read that the Voodoo power supply works for the other Line 6 modelers, but that it will not work with the M9 and M13 because they require more power. Others have said that these types of power supplies wouldn't work with the M9 and M13 because these pedal units require AC power rather than DC that most pedals require. And I've also read explanations that the AC Line 6 adapter is simply used so the same power supply will work with many pedals from Line 6 and that the pedals themselves have the components to internally convert AC to DC. That seems to be the case with the M9 since the Visual Sound Line 6 adapter works fine to power my M9 with a DC power supply.

Hopefully, I have made my situation clear as to what I'm looking for. Is there an affordable isolated power supply that is powerful enough to work with the M9 as well as my other analog pedals, or will I be stuck having to run power to the M9 individually?

M13 Firmware update error

Hello.

Less then one year ago I updated my M13 (to 2.04). Today I did this again (don,t ask why ) on same iMac and same interface but SysEx can't finish downloading. Is there any problem to reupdate the same version? My record is about 20% downloading before error. Last time I did it without any problems.

M13 MIDI?? WONT WORK!! Plz Help!

ok i am completly new to this midi stuff. i cant seem to get it to work. i dowmloaded to midi OX software and cant find out how to get the update to go through, im trying to download the 2.4 update. i dont know why the update wont go through. i was able to backup my files and have it go through fine. the midi usb cord i used was from best buy by Hosa Technology. I followed all the directions, its almost like the information is being send but the M13 isant getting it. i think it dosent go through the right input or output. when i look at the midi inputs and outputs it only says usb audio device. i think its supposed to say somthing else i dont know. i could really use some help on this, i dont know anything about this stuff.
