I guess no point in buying a cheap used GX just to get my hands on POD Farm 2.5 then , since I'd need to have that POS attached to my computer at all times...

As the title says... Are the versions of POD Farm 2.5 that come with the interfaces hardware independent?

Hmmm, that sucks regarding redoing patches... Will I at least be able to see what I had done (like see the settings I had even though it somehow won't work), so then I can recreate it with PF 2.5?
I mean, if I click on the plugin in the Logic track, what will I see?

Cool, thanks for the answers. I just realised there is no version of Pod Farm 2 that is free and that I could use my models without the device, I'll always need to pay $99 to use them...

Anyway, what I'll do is sell the Toneport, keep all my model packs and use the money of the sale to buy the Pod Farm 2 license later so I can use them

Just 2 more questions:

1 - Will the buyer still be able to download Pod Farm 1 from somewhere or will he be stuck between free Gearbox that's in the CD / Pod Farm 2.5 Free / paying for Pod Farm 2.5? Thing is that Pod Farm 1 allowed for more models than Pod Farm 2 Free does (the same models as Gearbox) so it sucks if he just gets the few models that Pod Farm 2.5 free offers... Is that all that people get these days if they buy a Pod Studio???

2 - If I open a Logic project recorded with Pod Farm 1 but now I have Pod Farm 2.5, what happens? Does 2.5 just take over as if nothing happen leaving all model setting on the track the same?

I'm about to sell my Toneport but I'm not sure yet if I want to keep my licenses and I'm confused about the changes that 2.5 brought (ability to be unlinked from hardware and whether that applies to older harware and models too, and whether I can use old models with Pod Farm 2.5)...

I have Pod Farm (1st version) and all the Platinum models that were available for it

Questions:

1. If I keep the license to all my Pod Farm Platinum models and later get another Line 6 device and Pod Farm 2 (free) can I use my models with it?

2. If I keep the license to all my models and later purchase the cheapest version of Pod Farm 2.5, can I use my Pod Farm Platinum models with it (thus making it be pretty much like the most expensive version)?

3. Is it possible to sell the Toneport but keep all my licenses and my account, or are the models harwired to the device and have to go with it?

4. If I decide to sell the models along with the Toneport, do I have to give the buyer my license or can I gift my models? I see the 'gift' link appears next to my model pack, so I suppose it's ok and they're not hardwired to the device? But I also read in the FAQ that the buyer will not be able to gift them himself later, so I might just transfer my account out of niceness so he has that ability and open a new account?

5. I have several Logic projects where I used Pod Farm and the Platinum models. If I one day open those projects but what I have is Pod Farm 2.5, what happens to the Pod Farm 1 plugin in those projects?

I'm considering selling my Toneport UX1 and would like to transfer all software licenses to the new owner.

It has Gearbox and POD Farm with Platinum models. How do I go about doing this?

Offer a "Scene copy protect" option in Setup. For some reason I have the tendency to press and hold to call up scenes instead of just pressing, and end up overwriting my scene. For that reason now I have my main scene backed up on 3 other spaces in folder 1. I'm sure this can't be hard to implement!

Some feature requests, please let me know if there's a more appropriate place to send them to.

Request 1

This is something that's forcing me to use manual saving instead of autosave: Please make it so that when I change settings on an fx, those settings overwrite the default ones. That way I know I can rotate to other effects, try more settings, and when I go back to them I haven't lost all my work in tweaking them. I know there are more complicated ways to work around this problem involving scenes, etc, but this would make it SO much easier.

You say in autosave all settings we do are saved like in a real pedalboard. That's true, but in real life when I decide to remove one distortion from my board and place another one, they always keep MY settings as opposed to reverting to "default" ones everytime and making me have to tweak them again :-) So I hope you can fix this in a future update.

Request 2

Please make it so that when we want to call up the tuner, we have to press and HOLD. To have the risk of going silent for pressing by accident 2 switches that are so close together when wanting to press only one is not acceptable for a multifx that aspires to be used by professionals live. Would be nice to have the same hold requirement for scenes and setup too, though you'd have to find a new way to save scenes.

Request 3

To add effects more usable by bassists, such as a bass wah (105q?), a bass chorus (EBS?), a bass synth (EHX?), a better bass octave (MXR?).

Request 4

Don't know if this would be possible, but having to tap dance between the device to activate a wah and the exp. to use it is not practical. Would be great to for example have the wah on all the time in the device but it would automatically bypass when the exp. wasn't touched for 1 second, then activate again when the exp. was touched (emulating the 105q).

Request 5 (hardware, for a future unit)

I know there are cost constraints, but one fx loop and USB would be great. Also, a 9v DC output to power other pedals like many tuners have would be brilliant.

I use this with bass and overall my opinions are:

Delay, Modulation, Reverb: Awesome

Distortion: Poor, keeping my T-Rex Bass Juice (only use volume pedal and tube comp)

Filter: Very poor, keeping my 105q and Bass MicroSynth

Overall well done, but please look into 1 and 2 in the near future, major design flaws IMO.

Further to this, the models work fine in Gearbox standalone. It's only in POD Farm standalone they don't show up. Should I just reinstall POD Farm?
