FLextone III with M13 - Prepare to be blown away in stereo!!

I play in a rock oriented top 40 cover band and this Flextone III has been a great amp for me. I bought a separate 1x12 extension cabinet so I could take advantage of the stereo ping-pong delay, but as good as the built in effects are, I found them limited and they do have some drawbacks. This lead me to invest in a Line 6 M13 effects board which I've owned for about 6 months and it's just last night that I had an epiphany and realized what this particular combination of gear is capable of. All I can tell you is that the results are UNBELIEVABLE. If you still have your Flextone and you have an extension cabinet as well - you MUST get your hands on an M13 and set it up with the stereo effect loop. My rig is set up now so the M13 goes into my amp through the stereo effects loop and delivers the richest and most incredible stereo effects I've ever heard. I have an FBV controller that sits beside the M13 that I use it to switch between clean, boost, crunch & distortion channels. (I don't use the flextone effects at all any more). Bottom line, there's nothing I can write here that could possibly describe how amazing this rig sounds. LINE 6, you guys are awesome!!

Leave the overdrive, distortion to the Flextone III and control channels through the FBV.

I'm half answering my own question, but holy cow, this does work! I have one Flextone III amp with stereo effects loop and one M13 connected via 4 cable method, (plus one more cable going from right output on M13 to Right FX return on Flextone III). I have the extension cab connected to the Flextone III and the stereo effects are glorious. However, distortion, overdrive etc seem to be going through the FX loop too, regardless of the M13 pre/post fx settings. If there's a workaround for this I will be in Line 6 heaven!! I'm sure I could connect the FBV controller and use the amp for overdrive and distortion and the M13 exclusively for time based and modulation effects. Hmmm did I just answer my own question?? Let me try that.

M13 with Flextone III amp (stereo FX loop) and extn cabinet?

I'm trying to set up my M13 for a good stereo effects setup. I have tried various cable connection methods, including the 7 cable method between two amps. I don't want to distract from my question by describing the result that I'm getting with the 7CM, but it's not working as I'd hoped it would. It just occured to me though, that both of my Flextone III amps have stereo FX loops built in, so what iss the best way to set this up now?

Also, I have an Flextone extension cabinet. Is it at all possible that I could get the M13 stereo effects by just using one amp with its stereo FX loop along with an extension cab? It can't be that simple right? I'm not even sure how to begin trying to connect the cables on this. Any suggestions please???

M13 with a Flextone III amp - Simply amazing!

I don't know if this is an amazingly flukey scenario that I stumbled into, but I thought I'd share it with you guys. I'm using the M13 for delays and modulation but using the Flextone amp and FBV shortboard to control overdrive and distortion levels. (4 channels set up on the FBV to give me clean, crunch, overdrive and heavy distortion). The M13 is running into the amp's FX loop with the 4 cable set up. What's blowing me away is how I can record a loop using the clean channel on the amp, (with all the effects from the M13), and while the loops plays back, I can switch to an overdrive channel on the amp while the loop continues playing completely unaffected. Now I have a clean channel rhythm guitar loop playing while I've got an overdriven lead tone in my hands with stereo ping pong delay playing over top of the loop. It is unfreaking believable. I realise much of this could have been handled through the M13 alone, but the OD pedals on the M13 aren't as good as the amp modelling and the true stereo ping pong delay on the Flextone (with extension cab) aren't possible with the M13 without two amps. You really have to hear this to believe it. I am in heaven!

The minute you add an extension speaker cabinet, you instantly power up that second amp and transform a very good, 75w combo amp into an incredible 150W stereo spread. To add to that, the POD X3 live connected to this amp/speaker combination is UNBELIEVABLE.
