Patch goes silent when "Amp" button is pushed?

I want to be able to push the amp button and my amp of choice distortion is heard....then I want to push the button again and still hear my patch clean , but most of my patches when I disengage the amp button, I hear nothing. Anyone know how to fix this? Some patches will still allow me to hear when the amp is disengaged but most dont.

I have a POD XT Live, I want to set the heel down setting below the 39% to like 10% or less for more sweep, I have tried in Edit and manually,it wont store it?

Any suggestions

Ok I bought a reccomended M-audio midi sport cable to try and connect my pod pro to my computer , i had an UNO and it worked for about 4 mins and lost connection?

wish me luck, this is even a whole other Pod Pro, I got another one

I have tried line 6 monkey and line 6 edit , nothing will connect, have tries switching the in and out cables, POD pro does not even show up in the dropdown list.

do I need to turn a switch on the pod somewhwere to get it to recognised?
