I will never buy any line6 product again

When I saw and heard of Line6 lowdown series, I've said to myself "now this is what I was waiting of for this long 35 years musical career". My impression was, Line6 musical products are by the conception , design and sound, the best . I've tryed to buy it in Czech Republic (where I live), but that was a "mission impossible". All music instruments shops told me: Line6 are by the distribution and customer support very, very bad choice. Try any other brand name amplifier, you will get it. Somehow, I found lowdown 150 combo in regional Line6 dealer web shop, and ordered it. There came tottaly dead combo. Customer support replaced it by the next combo having faulty DSP . I called them again, and they offered to make from two broken a one functional combo., But I told them " I have ordered a new product not a used/secondhand , so please, give me a new one". They said it is impossible with Line6 product . But recomended as best solution to reorder any other brand name product but not Line6 (oferred namely Gallien Kroeger, Ampeg,...), and they even promissed some price off . Explaining " Sorry but, buing Line6 is asking for trouble". So I have ordered competition brand name product.

Line6 again?

No, thanks. Never, never, again!

Low Down 150:How loud it is?

In early seventies two guitar players in my band used VoX AC 30, and I played bass on 100 Watt (Marshall, Hiwatt, Fender,...) heads with 4X12" Celestion box. We had very ballanced sound in indoors and open air 1000 audience places. I never played on 100% of sinus rated power but 70-75% max. volume. So if you are bass guitar player in a rock band playing big gigs, combo is not perfect solution for you. They are not efficient in produce loudness. It is much better to buy LD hd 400 or 750 head with full sized loudspeaker box. I have bought Low Down 150 combo cause I need it for studio recordings, and rarely small club gigs. If you have good guitar (pickups) Low Down 150 is very, very loud regardig its very small and compact dimensions. Great product! Unlike 175, and bigger LD combos it has not a piezo tweeter. But my style is not slapping and I played much fat tones. I am going to connect ballanced A.I.R output to the studio mixer and HDD based all in one recorders. Nex time more about this issue,...

Low Down 150 unboxing and check list

Hi there,

I have received replacement for faulty Low Down 150. It is slightly different (not so bulky grille, softer carpet). First I switched ON. Pop sound occured but combined with loud squeeky sound. "This piece is faulty too, or large capacitors are discharged". After a couple of hours switched on, there was only POP sound, but tomorrow again Squeeky sound?. It is not "Hi-End" product but "Low End", Naturally, it is made to amplify sounds from 30 Hz up to 1000 Hz. Well Low Down is new guitar amplification concept, using digital sound processors. And I think it is really a revolution. It is not 3 knob amplifier but very sophisticated sound device, once you understand how it works you can do virtually anything with your bass guitar sound. I think LINE6 has bad marketing strategy for Low Down products. They are marketed as something what could be taken as substitute for vintage bass amplifiers, but Low Down is much, much more. Five presets is much a starting point (not a final) in creation of your own sound, using EQ, compressor, Deep, and FX shaper settings. The only question is quality of manufacturing and components. Only time will tell,...

Low Down 150 Loudspeaker specs?

Hi there,

for last two months of failed attempts to order Low Down HD 400 (not availvailable), than Low Down 300 Pro (again: not available), next: Low Down 175 (guess what? Not available). Due to the Line6 very unprofessional Czech Republic dealers,...Finnaly I have received Low Down 150. But from the first connection to the power grid it doesn't work. Power stage or loudspeaker (maybe both) are blown. But I tryed to listen sound of the pre-amplifier through the headphones and it sounds GREAT! It is revolutionary bass guitar amplification concept. I am playing from early seventies and I have made music on all legendary guitars and aplifiers. But Line 6 is my music dreams come true.

I am asking informed members: What is the power rating and frequency response of the built in Hi-Touch 12" Loudspeaker?
