Exactly the same thing happend to me bro, even though I'm able to record and such via USB. I think that little part was a bit loose when I bought my POD and now it's gone.

Whatup bros!

I'm having problems that literally drives me insane.

I have been using my USB-cable for recording since i first bought the device (Pod HD500), and it has been working fine.

I am using a Windows 7 computer and Sony Acid Pro 7 for recording.

My real amp's amp simulation (Vox AD100VT-XL) is bypassed so I use the Pod as an amp AND effect simulator.

Then what is the problem?

When I have recorded my guitar, and have a track - I want the playback sound to come from my computer speakers - NOT from the amp itself, as it's doing right now.

I have watched the tutorial video about how to connect and record via usb, here on Line 6, and I have set up everything correctly (Standard recording device is set to Line 6 Pod HD500 in my computer). In the recording program Acid Pro 7, there are two different alternatives of choosing audio device - ASIO POD HD500 and Windows Classic Wave Driver. When I choose the ASIO the playback sound is from my amplifier, when I choose the second the sound do comes from the computer speakers, but it sounds incredibly dirty and screamy. NOTE; I have set the Pod's output mode to studio/direct.

So, I wonder;

What am I doing wrong? And how exactly do I do to configure the recording settings?

Please help me.

I set the pod to Studio/direct but it sounds very distorted and thin.... I don't know what's wrong - I've heard many people who are successful using this method.....

Hey, I have some questions...

I am currently using this "two cable method" when playing my pod hd500 - I use the pod:s amp simulation.

But the thing is, I have this really good tube amp with a good realistic sound, Vox AD100VT-XL, and I felt it would be such a shame not using it. So i decided to try the four cable method. I watched a video from Line 6 where they explained exactly how to connect the cables etc, etc. The first thing i noticed was; They talked about some mono cable. What is a mono cable? Is it okay to use a regular guitar cable in the 4CM?

One other thing that I've noticed you guys have been talking about is this FX-Loop. What exactly is it for and where should i place it in my signal chain? When editing my FX-Loop, there's three alternatives; Send, return and mix. The mix is already set to 100% and the send is set to 0. The return parameter is set to zero, but I don't get any sound. What return-value is recommended?

When I play, set up like this with four regular guitar cables the way they're supposed to and with no effects or pod amd simulation, I get a sound that's not very similar to the sound I'm used to hear just from the amplifer.

I dont get it.

I'd be very pleased with answers.

PRE AMPS / REGULAR AMPS

I am connecting my pod500 to the back of my VOX AD-100VTXL, in the fx-return input. The thing is - I am not sure whether I should use the Pre amps or the regular amps when creating my own sounds in the pod. Please, can anybody tell me the differens and which of these two alternatives that fits my tube-amp best.

(It is to be said that when I'm using the preamps, the sound is really low, I need to crank the volume knob almost to three 0'clock before getting any kind volume.)

Yes. I have done that, but it still doesn't work. It says that i need to update
