Hi guys,

First of all I would like to say that I’m getting great tones out of my pod hd500 and this community has helped me a lot. Thank you!

Ok, here is the situation:

I have a pod hd500 (Flash memory 1.31) and I use only pre amp models (Brit P-75 PRE) which sounded more suitable to me for playing live.

I was balancing the volumes of different presets, according to the topic

http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-4537 and I noticed something pretty strange. It’s possible to hear a huge difference in tone when I change drastically the CH VOL of the pre amp model.

Here’s my test: I configured two similar presets:

- First one with a CH Vol at 32% and the mixer at center and at 0 dB.

- Second one, exactly the same but with CH Vol at 100% and I reduced the mixer at -20dB in order to have the same overall volume.

I noticed that when the CH Vol is at 100% the tone is thicker and very nice to my ears.

When the CH Vol is at 32% it sounded like it’s missing bass and treble…

Have you guys already had similar experience?

Would you like to make a similar test and tell me your thoughts?

I tryed it with my LTD with humbuckers and sounded nice and punchy for Dire Straits Sultans of Swing ;o)
