it's probably out of warranty by now, and I wouldn't worry about it.

If you search the forum you'll find a number of posts on this issue.

Registration gives you nothing special... except formal warranty coverage.

and as a 5yr user of my F3XL....

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you DO NOT USE LINE6 MONKEY with the FlexIII.

Firmware upgrades FAIL more often than not, and backups that Monkey makes of your patchesCANNOT be restored!! USELESS !!

I hate to say it, but Monkey does not fully support the Flex series.

Use L6 Edit for editing and patch library management if you want to deal with Java (or Tweakwiz at vettaville.nl for C++).

If you need to upgrade/downgrade your firmware, use this L6 utility - that's what it was built for (by Line6, not me)

I just got an M-Audio Uno.I was wondering how do I down load version 1.10 onto my Flex III? Also I have read about units locking up and so on, is there any irreversable risk in changing to version 1.10. Thanks for the help.

Michaedr I had the same problem with my Flextone III Plus. Volume level would drop and then get loud without warning. I did the same thing, taking the component box out and making sure that all of the connections were snug and inserting a 1/4 inch jack into the headphone jack numerous times. Works like a champ. No more volume drop.

I have a Flextone III Plus amp that is the older version with "Treadplate" on the Amp Model Dial instead of "Recto Dual" The firmware was never updated to version 1.1 which I beleive was the last and only firmware update. I was wondering if version 1.1 was still available for download anywhere. I don't see the Flextone amp listed in my Line 6 Monkey drop down screen under "which Line 6 divice would you like to configure" Anyone know if it is still possible to get the most recent firmware update for the Flex III? Thanks

Flextone III - Help - Muffled Sound

My Flextone III Plus sounds good but something is missing from the sound it produces especially in high gain mode. I read another post from a Flex III owner and he described it perfectly. He said that his Flex III sounded as if it had a wet blanket over it and that it sounded like it was trying to cut through thick fog. I feel the same way about mine. I love the low end response of the stock speaker but the highs can get a bit harsh at higher volumes.

I was wondering if other Flex III owners had the same experience and what if anything can be done to remedy this. I was thinking maybe a BBE Sonic maximizer. Also I was wondering about placing a tube preamp in the effects loop if that might help? Any advice would be greatly appreceated.
