I have both a POD X3 and an Ubermetal pedal.

Out of curiosity, is the "insane" setting on both modeled in the same way?

I realize that "insane" on the POD is an amp emulation and that the pedal is a distortion pedal (not an amp) but is the gain structure similar in each case?

I use the Uber and Big Bottom models mostly...so not being able to import X3 tones is not a deal breaker.

Once more metal demos get posted online I'll be in a better position to tell if it's worth it to pick up the HD.

(That being said, the new EQs, cabs, and mics, are probably worth the price of the HD alone).

I agree. Also, can I still load my old POD X3 tones into the POD HD?
