Thank you for getting back so soon. So again, you agree that I am reading it correctly? And if so, say I backup all my customized presets as indicated, upgrade my firmware, and "reload" the .wav files.... what is the procedure for loading the settings back into my JM4? As far as I can tell there is no written procedure for this....

I posted a follow up question becuase what you said in your reply does NOT coincide with what the Firmware upgrade notes say. Again here is the direct quote:

The v2.09 update will erase all the custom guitar presets you have made. Record a short .wav file of each customized preset and the guitar preset will be saved as well. Use an SD card to create backups (via the TRANSFER ALL TO CARD command) then copy them from your SD card onto your PC for safe keeping (using an SD card reader). You can then reload your files using an SD card at any time after you have completed the update.

So... what is the truth--does the .wav file contain the exact settings as this seems to claim????!!!!

Does this mean that the .wav file is saving the exact settings as I dialed them in for each individual preset? So I can archive these exact presets and then load them back into my JM4 after an upgrade?

Connecting the JM4 to a Mixer

PLEASE HELP:

I have a Mackie VLZ3-402, 4 channel Mixer. I want to connect the JM4 to it for both live performance and daily practicing ... should I use "Out to Amp" or the stereo line outs? Follow up question: can I use only one of the stereo outs to my mixer and is one of them automatically mono?

I have been trying to do this exact thing as well. I am not having much success. The distortion models, no matter how I tweak them, I just can't get that bluesy, blues driver type tone. I have a Fender Blues Junior with an HSS strat and the M13.

Please read my response to the original post. I would very much like to know what the rationale is for not even giving us a space in which M13 users could share ideas and settings REGARDLESS of how we need to tweak them for our personal gear.

I think you asked a great question dude... and it is ******** that there is not even a place for us to share settings for several reasons: 1. the M13 can be overwhelming because there are so many parameters that can be tweaked--a forum to share would, at the very least, give us a foundation from which to proceed. 2. We (M13 users) don't even have a space (as you pointed out) in which WE can decide if and how we will share settings.

Thus there is no convenient way we can share ideas and help each other out. Lame.....

Saving Tones into PodX3 from CustomTone

Where do I find step by step directions to save tones into my PodX3 from Custom Tone? The tones I download disappear once I quit the Gearbox application no matter how many times I save them or rename them. What am I doing wrong? I can drag and drop them in and listen to them but as soon as I quit Gearbox they disappear.

I just want to download the tone and and save it on my PodX3.
