I've used both the FBV express II and the FBV II shortboard for gigging, and there is one extra thing I would add...

With the FBV Express II you have no LCD interface... This means that even when you change patch / bank you have to look around to the amp to verify that the patch has changed when you press for a patch change .. . The FBV Shortboard II gives you the LCD interface so if you are in any doubt as to what sound you are playing you have the reassurance of being able to look down and see straight away what patch you are using.

I just searched for the same thing... Again Line 6 do all the hard bits right and mess up the easy bits.. The pedal is great, and the software is excellent, but you cant access the artist patches and song patches...??

There is another way of adding the patches to your user bank though. You could copy the files down from the custom tone site and then upload them to the banks that way.

I've gone through all the 80s presets (and the rest) but I cant find anything close.

Is there anything in the song presets, artist presets, or custom tone sounds that can enable me to get this sound.

I'll be playing a Yamaha Pacifica Strat copy.

Okay I've left this aside as I simply cant afford to send the unit to the UK...

However I noticed that there was a new driver and new Monkey software so I thought I'd give it one last shot before selling the thing for parts... I downloaded and installed the new Monkey and then downloaded and installed the new driver. The PC suddenly picked up the Pod XT Live again.Here's what I can see now:

- I can now see the firmware and I've reinstalled it successfully.

- When I press the second from left "soft" button, it shows "Safe Mode B SRAM Test Passed", but it does not respond to holding Save/Edit.

- However, the question mark remains over the Flash Memory, it does not respond to holding Save/Edit, and the AMP/MOD/STOMP and blank screen persists

Anybody any suggestions as to where I can bring this in Ireland, or should I just sell it for scrap metal..

Line 6 Spider IV 75W: Master Volume Level

Hi lads,

Trying to set up the amp so that it's the same every night I'm gigging.. But it appears there is no accurate way to judge the Master Volume level.. There is no 0-10 level setting on the volume, and when I turn the knob there is no indication on the LCD as to the level...

I'm thinking of just drawing up my own volume meter and printing it out.. but surely there's got to be some easy way to remember the Master Volume Setting?

A (Clean): Homesick .. minus some of the delay

B (Blues Rock): Back In Black .. havent changed it, seems good enough as is.

C (General Rock): Here I Go Again ... minus some of the effects.. and with less Bass

D (Solo): Cliffs Of Dovers ... Again removed some of the effects and Bass..

Anybody got a better clean for songs like Price Tag, Billionaire... Anybody else got any opinions.. ?

Hi lads,

I was using a GT8 for effects but it's not working out.. I'm collecting an FBV pedal tomorrow and gonna go all Line 6 on Friday night..

So I need four basic patches to get me through the night.. Clean, Clean Blues, Rock Blues, Solo... Right now I'm using either Bed Of Roses or Cliffs Of Dover for solos, and That's Alright for Blues Clean... but I'm having trouble with a good generic clean sound and Rock Blues..

I dont have a lot of time to go through all the patches thoroughly.. Anyboy give me any help?

Still experimenting here myself before a gig tomorrow night :-(

I have a similar issue with test mode, I just cant control the volume.. I've had a bit more success plugging in to the CD/MP3 input.. first of all, I connected both the L and R outputs of the GT8 using this type of cable http://www.thomann.de/ie/the_sssnake_ypk2050.htm (which I had already, for connecting the MP3 player to my mixer), and this doubles the volume of the sound... as you get both channels... Aside from this I have turned up the output setting on the back of the GT8 to full, and this gives me pretty much the same level as I have going throught he front..

Hi there...

I have a similar issue with my Boss GT8.. I have tried both CD/MP3 input (which like the OP said is at a lower volume level) and the front input in test mode...

Now using it in test mode (and using the front input) would be a lot handier for me because of the cables that I already have... But it seems that when I go in to bypass mode the volume switch doesnt have the same function? I have looked up the pilot manual and the advanced manual but none of them mention test mode..

Any advice appreciated..

I have the same issue as you.. What did you do to dry it out.. Leave it in the hot press?
